This story in film, divided into two sections – MOTHER and DAUGHTER – is both an historic story and a piece of contemporary polemic which pinpoints the position of women during Soviet occupation in Latvia and the impact on them. Through this film we will allow the viewer to look into the twists of life in the difficult Soviet world to discover the impossibility of life and choice as an individual and search for opportunities. This is a short definition of the historical background of “Soviet Milk”, which in my opinion is also relevant in today's troubled world. This regime deprived a lot of people of their faith and integrity, also their lives, but for many it completely ruined life and goals. In fairly recent history of many European countries, the end of World War II meant that people had to live in the USSR occupation regime.
